Things That Help You Partner Well!

  • Use statements that begin with, "I"
  • Trust that problems have solutions
  • Never interrupt
  • Look people in the eye
  • Accepting a person's idea does not mean you agree with it
  • Take your time. If you need to schedule more time do so
  • Listen to words, notice body language
  • Feelings and situations are temporary
  • Repeat back the same words a person uses
  • Give and receive respect
  • Avoid blaming
