Expedited Hearing
An Expedited Hearing may also be requested if circumstances warrant
it. These hearings follow the same procedures except that the
hearing officer may elect to limit the hearing to a single day
for the presentation of evidence, direct and cross examination
of witnesses and rebuttal. The hearing must occur within 20 business
days of the request for hearing, unless the partners agree otherwise,
and the final decision will be mailed to both parties and Maine
Department of Education (MDOE) no later than 45 days after the
receipt of the written request for hearing.
