Other Places to File for Dispute Resolution

  1. The Federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (PL. 93-112) (Section 504) prohibits discrimination on the basis of an individual's handicapping condition. You may file a complaint with the Office of Civil Rights (OCR) in Boston. OCR's telephone number is (617) 223-9662.

  2. A complaint may also be filed with the Maine Human Rights Commission, 51 State House Station, Augusta, Maine, 04333, (207) 624-6050, for unlawful discrimination in education on the basis of sex, physical or mental disability, national origin or race. The Maine Human Rights Act applies to all educational, counseling, vocational guidance programs and all apprentices and on the job training programs.
